Q. How do you think of all your thoughts?!

A. I have no idea. I've always been a bit of a deep thinker and often thoughts seem to just pop into my head. Sometimes I panic and think, 'My God, what on earth am I going to write today?' but something always comes eventually. I often lie on my bed looking up at the ceiling which helps! I’m also certain that the universal energy helps me to think of things as well, and that thoughts come through me as opposed to being from me...

Q. How did you do the drawings?

A. Having not done art since A-Level (back in 1996!) I was a bit rusty at first, but I soon got the hang of things. I used a black fine liner and drew the outline of the characters on watercolour paper. I then used illustrator marker pens to colour all the people and animals in.

Q. What's your favourite thought from the book?

A. That's a difficult question. I've loved writing every one but if I had to choose, I'd say the one that starts, 'If souls could speak, this is probably what they would say...' The thought then goes on to list all the positive encouragement anyone could ever need to start living their dreams.

Q. What books have inspired you?

A. My goodness, millions! I love reading and usually have about 5 books on the go so I can pick-up whichever takes my fancy that day. Some really good books I’ve read are The Art of Effortless Living by Ingrid Bacci and How Yoga Works by Geshe Michael Roach and Christie McNally. However, the single most powerful book I’ve ever read is The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. It completely changed my life and gave me the confidence to create my book. It is a course in how to express your inner artist and get over your self-doubt in order to be creative. It’s truly wonderful!

Q. Where are you from?

A. I was born in West Yorkshire but I now live in West London. It's a lot noisier here but I love it.

Q. Where can I buy your book?

A. If you go to the ‘Buy’ tab above you will find all the info you need to buy my book and prints online. Alternatively, you may like to visit me on my Portobello Road market stall and buy a book that way. Visit the ‘Market Stall’ tab above for info.

Q. When will the next book be out?

A. Oooooh, when I feel that the first one has reached enough people!

Q. What do you do to feel inspired?

A. I go on walks in nature. I love walking and there are some great parks in London. When London gets too much I head into the countryside. A favourite destination is by the sea in North Wales or the Yorkshire Dales.

Q. What advice would you give anyone who wants to live their dreams?

A. I would say understand what your inner blocks are first and then work on releasing them. The thing that’s held me back most in life has never been outward circumstances, it’s always been a mental block I’ve had about myself. Once you get over your blocks it suddenly seems a lot easier and more enjoyable to start taking steps towards your dream. Of course, there will still be many outward hurdles to get over too, but they won’t seem half as challenging as the inner work you’ve gone through!
